Applied Positive Psychology Is About Killing The Anxiety Bug

By Gregory Myers

These days, there are so many reasons as to why people are struggling with health issues. Whether this is physical or mental. Reasons can range from social media to crime and much more. The sad part about this all is that it strongly affects the youth, and as students, their main priority should be education. So it's clear why the need for applied positive psychology is dire.

If you are someone that is trying to deal with anxiety and struggling to find a way to pass it, you may want follow a few simple steps. Firstly, it is important to watch what you eat. The stuff that one consumes has immediate and sometimes severe effects on your body. If you have something that your body rejects, you can quite sick or you can become unhealthy and not even know it. When you change this habit, you will start to feel better and this will also improve your mental state.

The one thing that is unable to control is the amount of time that one spends on social media. And because this has become a way of life, it is difficult to distinguish when is a good time to be on your device and when there isn't since this is what you use to research and do assignments. A good tip would be to allocate time for research and then separate time for being social. This way, your mind will be focused.

If you start to feel paranoid, more than usual, don't get too worried. This usually comes along with feeling anxious. As much as this may seem difficult, the only way that you will be able to get over that feeling is to just do the task that you are afraid to do. When this is done, you will immediately feel better.

A common activity that you will find among st those alike, is they tend to take a step back and just breathe. This is the moment when they basically telling their mind to relax and their body to ease up. The breathing helps this process and makes you feel calmer so that you can start over without the feeling of something taking over you. You can always try this and maybe even in a group with others.

The other option is to speak to your doctor. Most people take this route when everything else that they tried doesn't work. It is not a bad step however, it means that they will expect you to see a psychologist. And when this happens, you may have to be on some type of treatment, which isn't great if you are not an extreme case.

Sometimes, it may feel as though it is an extreme case but it really isn't. It is important to follow the basic steps first and if they work, it means that you can control it. Try this before heading to the GP.

You need to open yourself to exploring other ways to try and combat it by yourself and only thereafter, if you find that nothing works, then you see a GP. Don't ever feel that you need to blame yourself for something that is not your fault. These conditions are unavoidable but what you do afterwards, is completely up to you.
