By Carl Butler

The institution of marriage is simply a beautiful institution. Thus, it should be given the seriousness it deserves. Finding a spouse that a person loves is a great accomplishment of life. According to the laws of most countries, anybody above 18 years is free to marry. Nowadays, most people usually choose to marry around 30 years because of business or career commitments. It is desirable that one marries as soon as possible because marriage can lead to happiness or success in life. There are many success stories that started with a Jewish Christian interfaith wedding. Actually, interfaith marriages work.

One of the happiest days of life is wedding day. Thus, it should be celebrated with pomp and glamour. There are few days in life that can compare to the wedding day. It is just as important as or even more important than the day of birth. That is because it marks the beginning of marital bliss. Wedding anniversary is also great.

It is always great to overcome the religious barrier. Religion is something wonderful that should be used to make the world to become a better place. Religion should not divide. Instead, it should unite. There is totally no need to fight over religion because most religions have a lot in common. The Torah is similar to the Bible in some ways.

There was a time in history when an individual had to marry someone of his faith. In the past, interracial marriages were the exception rather than the norm. However, that is no longer the case. Interracial marriages are increasing in the US, Europe as well as other countries. In recent years, there has also been a rise in interfaith marriages.

Both Christianity and Judaism emphasize the institution of the family. That is why believers of these faiths are usually encouraged to marry and have children. Giving birth facilitates the continuity of a generation. One of the commands that were given to Abraham, the patriarch of faith, is that he should fill the world. This still applies in modern times.

The family is the bedrock of society. A strong society is the product of strong families. When people ignore family values, there will be a broken society. The family institution is as old as time. Also, it will not end any time soon. Adam and Eve were the first husband and wife. They were the first humans to inhabit planet earth.

There is totally no need to date only people of a certain religion or race. That is simply living in the past. The days of homogenous marriages are long gone. Presently, interfaith and interracial marriages are quite common in Western countries like the United States of America. Marriage should be based on love and nothing else. Love is the foundation of strong marriages.

An interfaith marriage is something worth celebrating not only because it marks the union of two people but also due to the fact that it brings down the barriers of religion. Planet earth is a global village thanks to the positive effects of the internet. People of different religions and from different countries can easily meet online and start dating.
