Combination Of Calla Lily Bridal Bouquets And Foliage

By Ryker Crogan

The calla lily is frequently known as an Easter lily in many places. This is often due to popularity as a gift during Easter and spring. It is also called the Lily of the Nile by some for its native land. This perennial is evergreen in some areas and deciduous in others. In the wild it grows along streams and rivers in warmer climates. It is often grown indoors as a houseplant or in a garden location. Zantedeschia aethiopica includes species such as Calla aethiopica.

Bright orange and bronze shades have been developed for blooms. Bright reds and deep yellows may also be found through cultivation. Black lilies are an unusual take on the traditional white colors. These feature maroon or deep plum as well as rich black for blooms. They have a striking and unusual look that makes them recognizable. Here are few fillers and foliage that mix well with calla liliy Bridal bouquets for the fall season.

China Berry: China berries are green marble sized berries on a wood branch. It can be used to give wedding bouquets style and texture. China berries can be painted with floral spray to add even more flair to floral designs. The main utility of chinaberry is its timber. This is of medium density, and ranges in colour from light brown to dark red. In appearance it is readily confused with the unrelated Burmese teak (Tectona grandis). Melia azedarach - in keeping with other members of the family Meliaceae - has a timber of high quality, but as opposed to many almost-extinct species of mahogany, it is under-utilised. Seasoning is relatively simple, in that planks dry without cracking or warping and are resistant to fungal infection. The taste of the leaves is not as bitter as neem (Azadirachta indica).

Seeded Eucalyptus: Seeded Eucalyptus has arrow shaped leaves and seeded pods along the stems that give the foliage a distinctive look. When I use seeded eucalyptus I strip most or all of the leaves off the branch. I prefer using willow seeded eucalyptus because it is a more upright variety and has less of a droop than regular seeded eucalyptus. Seeded Eucalyptus has droopy pale leaves, and has clusters of flower-like seed pods along the stem. Each stem is 20"-26" in length. This product will stay fresh for 2-3 weeks, depending on care and climate.

Green Millet: Millet is a leafy filler that looks like amaranthus. It works well in natural looking floral designs or rustic themed arrangements. Millet is great to use to soften a bouquets look. White calla lilies and millet make a natural looking bouquet for the fall, while purple callas and millet make a richer looking bouquet. Another one is Lemon Leaf. Lemon leaf, also known as Salal tips, has oval shaped foliage with woody branches. It is a great green to use in wedding bouquets. Lemon leaf can add stability to flimsy blooms and give a bouquet a more finished look. Leaves can be cut and shaped to fit the style of the bouquet.
