Making The Most Of Your Look With A Bridal Fur Stole

By Julio Knebel

The big day is drawing near and you're wondering if choosing that sexy strapless number was such a good idea. If it's colder than you expected, an unstructured jacket or coat will just ruin that stunning look you were going for. A much better option is a bridal fur stole.

A stole consists of a narrow piece of fabric for wrapping around the shoulders. One that is made of fur will add warmth instantly. It is quick and easy to remove too, so you can wrap up when it's cold and bare your shoulders again when it's warm. This is one of the easiest ways to get around the in-between temperatures of a fall or spring day.

What's great about a garment that you can simply wrap around is that the way you wrap up can give you a wholly new look. If you want to look very formal, you simply need to wrap up tightly. Then add a brooch to fasten it with. This is an opportunity to finally wear Grandma's antique pearl brooch.

If you want to have a more relaxed look, casually drape the fur around your shoulders and arms. Then let the ends hang loose. In this way you can raise or lower the garment to cover up more or to show more of your neck and upper back.

Many brides have the problem that they don't want to feel too naked in the place of worship where the ceremony takes place, but they still want to look ready to party afterwards. If this is a worry for you too, you will find that a stole will come in handy in this regard as well. You will look great during the ceremony without causing offense to anybody and after the ceremony, you will need only a second or two to get the right look for the reception.

The furry fabric has the added advantage that it creates more bulk on top while leaving you with a narrow waist. Drawing the eye towards your shoulders and neckline is a great way to hide a not-so-flat tummy or wide hips. In addition, there is no better way to show off that stunning necklace.

Your bridal fur stole can be a lovely vintage piece or it can be made of faux fur instead. If neither appeals to you, you can get similar benefits from a wedding bolero jacket. The type of fabric you choose depends on what you would like to get out of wearing a bolero. For warmth, go for a heavier fabric like brocade or satin. If you just want something tasteful to keep your shoulders covered, a lace bolero can be beautifully romantic and feminine.
